Sturgeon Bay council approves TIF district for Sunset School housing

STURGEON BAY – Thirty-6 models of housing are on the horizon immediately after the Sturgeon Bay Town Council authorised the approach and boundaries of a Tax Increment District made up of the former Sunset College house and parking lot.

According to the agenda packet from the Tuesday conference, the district will be established as a “mixed-use district,” with tax increments and personal debt proceeds funding close to $975,316 in public expenses.

In addition to two housing assignments, the plan includes road and sidewalk advancements on adjacent streets.

The mixed-use district has 20 yrs to full the venture and pay back again the cash, according to the summary from Local community Progress Director Marty Olejniczak on the agenda.

Tax incremental financing districts are made by municipalities to redevelop blighted attributes and infrastructure for industrial parks, fund cleanup of contaminated attributes and present incentives for initiatives.
